BAKKASKEMMAN

In years past, there was a fish factory on Grandi Food Hall's premises at Grandabryggja. To remind you of this fun story, we have built a multi-purpose space that we call Bakkaskemman.

In Grandi's Bakkaskemman, visitors have the opportunity to see when fresh fish, landed at Grandabryggja, enters Iceland's Fish Market. There is a lot of life when landing because of the hustle and bustle of ferrying fresh fish from ships to the fish market.

Grandi Food Hall's guests are free to take a seat in the Bakkaskemman with their delicacies and eat there as long as the space is not booked.

Bakkaskemman at Grandi is for rent. It can be booked for live performances, private gatherings, meetings, parties or any kind of event. A condition is to buy refreshments from Grandi Food Hall at events after 17:00 and on weekends, but the rent includes the use of a sound system and a large TV screen.

Bakkaskemman is not rented out on national holidays such as June 17th, The Fisherman's Day and the Cultural night.
